INFORMATION & TIPS FOR USING OUR FUSIBLE INTERFACINGS
Applying the fusible interfacings.
Our fusible interfacings are easily applied with a domestic iron. We recommended that you experiment with a scrap of your fabric when using fusible interfacings. Good fusing is a combination of heat, pressure, steam and time. Every fabric requires a different combination
1. Cut all fusible interfacings 1/4" smaller than the garment piece. This will prevent the interfacing sticking to the ironing board when fused. To prevent bubbling in fusible interfacings pre-shrink them by steaming all over. Cut the interfacing to size and position over the fabric, glue side down. Steam with your iron approximately 1/2" above the interfacing. The interfacing will pull in and shrink about 2%.
2. Now position your interfacing on to your fabric by gently ironing all over. If you don't get it in the right place, at this point you can pull it off & start again. 3. Fuse in place .Use a silk organza pressing cloth over the top & set your iron one temperature setting above the fabric you are using. You need steam & heat to fuse the interfacing, about 10seconds in each place will give a good general stick. Some fabrics may need more or less time to stick. We recommend that you test a piece first & always pre-shrink your fabrics, interlinings and interfacings.
